This course is for anyone with some experience of presenting that is keen to learn modern communications techniques to improve their delivery and become more confident. It is also ideal for those new to presenting.

This course will help those who present in-person or online – via Zoom or Teams.

Identifying the professional and personal qualities you wish to project:

Making the right impression

Dress to impress, body language, eye contact.

Message development and delivery techniques

  • Modern day storytelling, what the T.R.U.T.H about what audience wants from you.
  • A message development structure to help you create messages quickly that will resonate with your audience (A.M.E.N)
  • Sounding human – the importance of case studies and examples to support your messages.

Honing your messaging - practical session

This is a chance for the group to develop and hone their messages and practice applying some of the lessons learnt from the first part of the course.

Review, coaching and feedback will be facilitated by the lead tutor.

Techniques to make your presentations more memorable

  • Matching your delivery to your presenting channel – whether online, in-person, in a board room or on stage.
  • Using visuals and gestures more effectively – PowerPoint and props.
  • Positive, confident body language, sitting and standing.
  • How to project a professional image with personal warmth.

Factors that influence and engage your audience

During this session we will also review real life video examples of presenters putting the above techniques into use.

Presentations and feedback - in-person - practical session

Here you will deliver a short presentation to the group, giving you a chance to practice and hone the skills learnt during the day.

This session will be recorded by our camera operator for a post presentation review, coaching and feedback that is facilitated by the lead tutor.
