Media Training Tips – The Sofa Interview

Most people who are asked to do a TV interview don’t have to face the rigours of a one on one with Jeremy Paxman or Jon Snow. More often it’s an ‘on the sofa’ interview, which can feel more relaxed and informal. However don’t be fooled, as the same rules apply. It’s still vital that your body language is confident and you get your messages across even if it feels like more of a chat than an interview. Remember there is an audience out there watching and waiting to see how you perform. The aim of the game is to use this as an opportunity to engage with the audience so that they believe in you and what you are saying. To explain more here’s Sian with some handy tips to help you through this style of interview.
