Our livestreaming and webinars will help you reach your audience in real-time

Livestreams, masterclasses and webinars are booming.

And one of the great strengths is their versatility. You can stream any content from any location.

You can create educational webinars and livestreaming events where you set out to solve problems experienced by your customers and discuss topical issues.

There is less subtle sales-orientated live video where you guide people through a new product or service.

Q&A sessions are another in-demand livestream and webinar format, allowing people to chat and connect with experts.

And webinars are becoming a crucial internal communications tool, enabling departments to share successes and knowledge.

Webinars and livestreams are cheaper and more convenient than in-person events, and can still be interactive. Viewers can ask questions, vote for those posed by others and give their thoughts in polls.

But the versatility of this format does not stop there. You can repurpose livestreamed content into blogs. And you can share quotes and video clips on social media.

And it offers long-term value - you can add a recording of your livestream or webinar to your website, YouTube channel and social feeds, and customers and staff can download them long after the event. Many of our clients choose to gate these recordings - a great way of gaining customer data.

What is the difference between a webinar, a livestream and a masterclass?

Webinar

A webinar is typically a private streaming event requiring attendees to register.

It should explore something relevant and niche, a timely issue impacting your sector, or offer advice on how to do something better.

But a webinar could also be set up for sales purposes, such as to launch a new product.

Masterclasses

These have more of an educational feel.

The name means you’ve got to know your stuff, or people will leave disappointed.

We use ‘masterclasses’ to describe the livestream sessions in The Media Team Academy because we know people watching have good background knowledge of the subject and want to learn more.

Livestreaming

Livestreaming tends to refer to events accessible to everyone through the internet and channels like Facebook Live or YouTube. Access is free and doesn’t need registration.

To be successful, you need a strong social media presence or the ability to drive traffic to where the video is streamed. The promise of expert advice helps get people to watch.

And as a livestream is accessible to the world, viewing figures can be larger.

How we can help with your livestreams, webinars and masterclasses

Whatever live format you prefer, you need something that informs, educates and offers quality. Otherwise, viewers will move away from their screen, search for something else, or switch off altogether.

We'll work with you to ensure viewers interact and connect with your live content and go away feeling they better understand the problem.

Our journalists can fine-tune ideas and help you identify angles, opinions and issues to discuss.

They can also host webinars, asking questions that enable your experts to showcase their knowledge and compel those watching to interact.

The addition of a journalist host will also add credibility. It shows you are taking it seriously and not just there to present a sales pitch.

Whether you opt for livestreaming, webinars or masterclasses, you need viewers.

Our creative team can create the material you need to market your event and compel people to register and watch.

As a company also working on video production and podcast production, our audio and visual technicians will ensure your webinars avoid any technical hitches.

The 4 stages of creating a livestreaming event, webinar or masterclass

Conversation

It all starts with a chat. Speak to us about your live broadcast needs.

We'll guide you through our services and begin to explore the best options for your project.

Pre-production

A livestreaming event, webinar or masterclass requires planning to turn ideas and briefs into a quality live broadcast.

We'll work with you to create something that will attract viewers and meet your goals.

This will include deciding where to hold the live session, who should host it, what structure you should adopt and how you will ensure people watch it.

Livestream

It is time to broadcast. This is where the planning and preparation pays off.

And our tech team will be on hand to ensure it runs smoothly.

Post-broadcast

If you are planning a series of livestreams, webinars or masterclasses, it is crucial to review the session and consider what went well and what you might tweak for the next one.

We'll also give you a video of the session you can use on your website and social media, and YouTube channels.

What others say about our livestreaming, webinar and masterclass services

We were asked to host, record, produce and livestream the National Union of Students (NUS) 2022 Election Hustings.

Working with Media First for our Elections Hustings in 2022 was fantastic. Their team worked really hard to accommodate all our requirements, and often had to be quite flexible to changes to suit the needs of our team and the candidates. Andrea was an absolute dream to work with, and helped us with all the tiny and important details. On the day, candidates were provided with media training and made to feel at ease with host Susan Bookbinder supporting them. The technical team also managed coordinate both online and in-person candidates, with everything coming together seamlessly. No easy feat!

We were really happy with the results! Being able to hear from our candidates, and their views on students issues today was amazing, and was a key part in engaging students in our democratic process during our 100th Birthday year.

Who else have we worked with?

We worked with global music and technology company Utopia Music, to give over 200 employees a fast-paced introduction to understanding the media.

Working with Utopia’s comms team, we planned and delivered a live two-hour live webinar to help demystify some of the inner workings of the media.

The Media Team Academy

We've also delivered our own livestreaming events.

We've run webinars on communication issues where our tutors and customers have shared expertise and experiences on topics like crisis media management, message development and sustainability.

And members of our learning and development programme -The Media Team Academy - have access to masterclasses, covering crisis management, message development, briefing spokespeople and more. And personal development masterclasses, hosted by our sister company, The BCF Group, help delegates improve leadership and coaching skills.

Your questions answered on webinars, masterclasses and livestreaming:

You can use our new studios in Winnersh. We also have access to studios in London and across the country. And we can work with you to identify something closer if you prefer.

We can also run a webinar, livestream or masterclass from your office or remotely.

Hosting live internet events can feel daunting. People worry about running out of things to say, facing unexpected questions, and how they will cope with technical difficulties.

We can help. We have been delivering communication training for more than 35 years and can ensure presenters and guests appear confident, natural and relaxed.

We have access to brilliant broadcasters. We work with current working journalists, many of whom you will recognise from TV and radio.

They have vast experience and will ask questions that get the most from your guests.

But you can also use one of your spokespeople to present the livestream. And we can provide them with training if they are nervous or want to refine their skills.

We can help you make the most of your email marketing software. We can also recommend software that would best suit your needs and objectives.

Or you can use our email marketing software. We can also provide all the content for your emails.

Two or three livestreams or webinars may be all you need to deliver results. Even a one-off can bring benefits - a scarcity factor can be beneficial.

It all depends on what you want to achieve and how you want people to respond.

If a live series work best, we can work with you to make it long-lasting. Getting the structure right is crucial. Much like launching a TV or radio show, this means coming up with a repeatable process and content structure that will not get boring.

Our team can carry out interviews with your guests, and they can help you find and uncover stories, information and data that will engage your audience and ensure they keep coming back.

People will tell you webinars should be part of your marketing strategy.

But how do you quantify that? How do you prove a return on the time, effort and money you invest into a livestream?

We can help you identify the metrics and data for your aims. It could include participation statistics, engagement scores, social media promotion, brand awareness data and attendees who take your next steps and close deals.

But we also advise a healthy helping of realism. These live events are not a ‘silver bullet’.

View them as another piece of your sales, marketing, customer service or communications strategy – a way to further warm up your potential customers, educate your audience, move them along the sale journey and complete deals.

You don’t need one to hold successful livestreaming events and webinars. There are many ways to promote your event and ensure virtual bums on seats, whether you are seeking a global audience or something more selective.

You may have more of a marketing list than you think. Your social media followers could provide a large audience, for example.

And the fact they follow you suggests interest and an investment in what you say. Forums and LinkedIn Groups also offer ready-made audiences – you just need to ensure you offer something relevant, compelling and valuable.

Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn pay-per-click adverts offer promotion options and may be worth considering if your webinar is about a new product or service rather than thought leadership. But there are cost implications you will need to factor into the return-on-investment question.
